What is Nissan Remote Start?

Nissan Remote Start is an advanced feature that enables you to start or stop the engine in your new Nissan automobile, even when you are not inside of it. This is done through the Nissan Remote Start app or the MyNISSAN Owner Portal. It’s a great feature to have if you want your warm-up before you get inside of it on cold mornings during our Traverse City winters. How to Activate Nissan Remote Start

Activating Nissan Remote Start is as simple as downloading an app. Just follow these directions:

• Find out if your car has the Nissan Remote Start feature. If there is a round arrow on your key fob, your vehicle is equipped with this feature.
• Find the Nissan Remote Start app in Google Play or the App Store and install it on your device.
• Follow the on-screen directions to set up an account and link your car.
• Keep your PIN in a safe place, as you will need it to remotely start your car.

How to Use Nissan Remote Start

Using this feature is also simple. Many Cadillac drivers find it quite intuitive. Follow these steps:

• Make sure the vehicle is parked, the doors are locked, the hood is down, and the windows are up.
• Press the lock button on the key fob.
• Within 5 seconds of pressing the lock button, press and hold the remote start button for 2 seconds.
• Your car’s engine should turn on, along with the parking lights and automatic climate control.
• The engine will shut off after 10 minutes unless the above process is repeated.

Is Your Nissan Remote Start Not Working?

Are you having issues with this feature? Below are some possible causes of your Nissan Remote Start not working. If you’ve checked all of these things, and the feature still does not work, schedule an appointment with our service center:

• You have already remotely started the car twice in a row. In which case, you will need to start it with the ignition before it remotely starts again.
• The hood is not latched.
• Hazard lights are flashing.
• Doors are not locked or windows are not all the way up.
• Ignition is in the ON position.
• The vehicle is not in Park.
• Remote start has been shut off in vehicle settings. Check the vehicle display for this.
